It's all about that Organic cotton.

We're proud to be using Spiritex Fabric which is composed of 100% Organic Domestic Cotton and Recycled Fibers. Everything, from the seed to the shirt, from the farm to the fabric is done right here in the good ol' US of A and we personally wouldn't have it any other way.

We start with the fiber sourced from the Texas Organic Growers Co-op, a collective of organic farmers that have been farming pesticide free since the early 90's. The ginned cotton is shipped by the bale to spinning mills that maintained a presence in North & South Carolina where it goes through the spinning process to yield finished yarn. Once the yarn is ready, it goes to the knitters dispersed throughout the Carolinas where it's knit into one of the signature Asheville Apparel styles yielding what's called greige goods (fabric that has yet to be finished). The greige goods are then sent to various finishers also located in the existing mill infrastructure of the Carolinas to be converted into finished fabric. The finishing process utilizes low impact fiber reactive dyes in a closed loop system for colors and a natural citrus scour or peroxide wash for natural and white.

Asheville Apparel has remained at the forefront of doing the right thing in regard to respecting the people and the planet in the production of our wares, as a matter of fact, it's why we do what we do! Change begins within, so we're proud to be a part of a movement right here in the USA where people are waking up to the fact that what you put ON your body is just as important as what you put IN your body. When you invest in Spiritex Fabric and Asheville Apparel, you're supporting sustainable agriculture practices, a reinvigoration of the once thriving textile industry of the USA which supports local and sustainable supply chains, and your fellow Americans.

It's all about that Organic cotton.

What's in the works!

Today the sewing room has been working hard to crank out our newest RAD Dress. It's a sweatshirt, dress, hoodie, cowl hybrid so it couldn't be anything other than rad. Throw it on over your favorite shirt with some leggings or jeans or tights or whatever. Pants or no pants, this thing is probably the most comfortable piece of clothing that has graced any lady face.

Fall 17 Photo Shoot

One of the hardest things we run into, is doing it ALL. We make everything from the raw materials up and it's already a ton of work. The real challenge has been keeping the website and all the virtual reality stuff updated with new styles/colors. AHHHH THE PIXELS!!!!
